[Oh good. Practical lecturing. That's exactly what he wanted.]
There isn't any Hell to rule at home, either. It's gone. I was usurped during your little ritual by a psychotic angry ginger who I can't possibly defeat with my powers fluctuating and a blood addiction.
But you're correct -- what else could I possibly have to lose here?
Wish I wasn't. I guess it went on this way for a few weeks, or a few months.
Something happened, around the time Dean's from.
[There's a pause, and he has to stop himself from getting worked up at the very thought.]
The angel lied about who he was. He possessed me completely and killed my friend. And then he left with my body. Nobody knows what happened or where he went after that.
[He bows his head, the information like a punch he can't recoil from, has to just accept. He's not sure what to say, how to even react - can he even? This is a nightmare right out of a book of fears he wars with. He slouches forward, curling his hands over his bowed head, the fight and willpower drained out of him in an instant. His heart is beating too fast and hurts, thudding in a hollow ribcage half-burning from the Trials as it is.
[ and off Ishtar goes to do things and literally an hour or so later, there's a knock on the door of his home, because Ishtar can get serious when she wants to. ]
I know that something has happened to him because he wouldn't have missed my birthday if he could prevent it ne? So I think he is probably in the Wastes somewhere. We've been looking but the Wastes are strange. When he comes home I'm going to beat him up for sure.
[Rei honestly doesn't really know how to answer that.
On one hand, she's furious. Dean is an idiot. Idiot. She's not from their universe, but she's met enough angels to know that trusting them is a stupid idea.
But on the other hand, she can get it. She has someone she loves that much, someone she would refuse to let go. She's died for them, resurrected for them, all of the above. And if she had the opportunity to stop Usagi from dying, she would do it, no matter what it took.
No wonder everything was messed up.]
I'm guessing the angel who did all of this is here, because everyone is acting like Lucifer turned up in this house.
[Now if you'll excuse him, all the mild humor and happiness he'd had about 5 minutes ago has been sucked right out of him, and everything looks really bleak and sad, so he's gonna just lay down and pretend he's sleeping.]
Given my track record of always being right and given Adstring's record of always being weird, it's going to happen.
I don't really remember a lot of what I've been through since I've come back, but I'm going to place my bets on "I've been through worse than a dragon".
He shifts awkwardly at the mention of his brother, but ultimately trudges on, carrying them carefully and one step at a time so she doesn't trip on her own feet. Just need to get her to a couch, get her a blanket, water. He's dealt with Dean a few times back when his alcohol intake was particularly bad. Back with Bobby's ghost.]
